Editorial Standards

How United Roundup sources, checks and labels its coverage — and what happens when something needs correcting.

Evidence first

We describe recovered evidence, not certainty.

Totals on this site describe what has actually been recovered from public sources—not a claim that every question asked or every word said in a press room has been captured. Partial articles, answer-only pages, and duplicates are labelled explicitly rather than smoothed over. Missing publications are recorded as genuine gaps, never treated as proof that no conference or question occurred.

Wording

Exact wording is retained wherever possible.

Where the club publishes an answer without the question, the response is preserved but no question is invented to accompany it. Two wording sources are used and labelled differently:

Club verbatim

Wording published directly by the club or outlet, word for word.

Transcript-derived

Wording taken from official video captions where no published transcript exists. Caption absence is treated as a source limitation, not evidence that a conference didn't happen.

Framing

Framing is about wording, not motive.

Critical, premise-led or confrontational labels describe the visible construction of a question—not a claim about a journalist's private intent. Allegations remain attributed to whoever raised them, and a disputed premise is never quietly converted into a stated fact. Questioner and outlet are marked unconfirmed unless identified by the footage, the moderator, or another reliable source.

Corrections

Corrections are welcomed, not defended against.

If United Roundup gets something materially wrong—a misattributed quote, a wrong date, a mischaracterised claim—we want to know. Material corrections are applied directly to the affected page with a note explaining what changed and why, rather than silently edited away.

Send corrections to corrections@unitedroundup.com.
